Chapter 15: A New Beginning

Six months later, the mansion no longer felt cold.
The girls called Rosa “Mama” now — carefully at first, then with growing joy. Emiliano and Rosa were married in a small, private ceremony in the garden. Only the girls and a few close staff attended.
There was no grand wedding. No expensive dress. Just laughter, flowers the girls had picked themselves, and quiet promises.
On their wedding night, after the girls had fallen asleep, Emiliano and Rosa stood on the balcony overlooking the garden.

“I almost lost everything because I was blind,” Emiliano said, holding her hand. “I almost lost them. I almost lost you.”
Rosa leaned her head against his shoulder.
“You found the truth in time,” she said. “That’s what matters.”
Below them, in the girls’ bedroom, Sofia and Martina slept peacefully for the first time in years — no longer afraid, no longer walking on eggshells.
Emiliano kissed Rosa’s forehead.
“I love you,” he whispered.
