Chapter 6 - The Termination-6

The silence in the room was absolute. It was a silence so heavy that it felt as though the oxygen had been sucked out of the atrium.
Grant stood frozen at the foot of the stage, his hands hanging limp at his sides. The reality of his existence was collapsing around him with terrifying speed. Every victory he had ever claimed, every award he had ever accepted, every glass of champagne he had ever poured to celebrate his "genius" had been nothing more than a charity handout from the woman he had treated like a servant in his home.
Mavis Holloway buried her face in her hands at the VIP table, weeping silently in sheer social ruin. She realized instantly that the woman she had forced to cook, clean, and endure endless verbal abuse was the sole owner of the very house Mavis lived in, the cars she drove, and the credit cards she used.
Seraphina adjusted the papers on her podium, her expression unyielding.
"Tonight was intended to be the announcement of a new two-hundred-million-dollar infrastructure grant from Bellamy Holdings to the Holloway Meridian Group," Seraphina announced clearly to the crowd. "However, after a comprehensive internal audit conducted over the past seventy-two hours, Bellamy Holdings is officially issuing an immediate, irrevocable termination of all financial partnerships with Holloway Meridian Group."
"No..." Grant gasped softly, taking a staggering step toward the stage. "Seraphina... please... no!"
"Furthermore," Seraphina continued, ignoring his desperate cry entirely, "due to severe breaches of corporate ethics, unauthorized diversion of capital, and the illegal transfer of company assets into private offshore accounts, Bellamy Holdings has called in all outstanding loans, effective immediately at midnight."
A loud murmur erupted among the bank presidents and real estate developers in the audience.
Standing near the perimeter of the stage, three senior executives from Florida’s largest commercial banks immediately pulled out their phones, frantically dialing their legal departments to freeze Holloway Meridian’s accounts before Bellamy Holdings drained the liquidity.
"Seraphina!" Grant suddenly shrieked, breaking through his shock and rushing toward the podium steps. "You can't do this! You're my wife! We are married! This is a personal dispute! You cannot ruin my company over a personal matter!"
Julian Vance did not even need to give an order. Two heavy security guards stepped forward, grabbing Grant by his arms and pinning his shoulders back with effortless force.
"Release him," Seraphina said calmly from the microphone.
The guards stepped back, keeping Grant contained within a tight perimeter.
Seraphina stepped out from behind the podium and walked to the front edge of the stage, looking down at the man she had spent seven years observing.
"You are correct about one thing, Grant," Seraphina said, her voice echoing through the speakers. "We are married. But our prenuptial agreement—the one your mother insisted I sign seven years ago to ensure I couldn't touch your 'future wealth'—contained a standard Bellamy family clause."
Grant’s eyes widened in sudden, horrific recollection.
"Any spouse who engages in corporate fraud, marital infidelity, or moral turpitude forfeit all rights to marital property, spousal support, and corporate indemnity," Seraphina recited effortlessly. "Your mother’s legal team was so eager to protect your small bank account seven years ago that they signed the agreement without ever reading the master appendix attached to my signature."

Seraphina leaned in slightly, her voice dropping to a whisper that was captured perfectly by the microphone.
"You have no company, Grant. You have no house. You have no cars. And in precisely twelve minutes... you will have no money."
