Chapter 14 - The New Dawn of the Dynasty

Two months after the raid on the Geneva research complex, the global political and military landscape had undergone a seismic, irreversible cleansing.
General Marcus Vance and his co-conspirators in the Department of Defense were formally arraigned before a federal military tribunal in Washington, facing charges of high treason, illegal warfare experimentation, and the premeditated assassination of an active-duty naval officer. The trial was swift, public, and absolute, exposing the darkest corners of the military-industrial complex to the blinding light of congressional accountability.
At Hawthorne Global headquarters in Manhattan, the atmosphere was one of profound renewal and unbreakable strength.
Raymond Hawthorne stood on the balcony of his fiftieth-floor executive suite, looking out across the sunlit expanse of New York City. The sky was clear, brilliant, and completely unmarred by clouds.
The heavy oak door of his office opened softly, and footsteps crossed the plush carpet. Raymond turned to see Elena walking toward him, holding little Leo by the hand. The boy was wearing his tiny toy pilot’s jacket, clutching a brand-new wooden model airplane painted in bold red and silver.
"Grandpa," little Leo called out happily, running over to wrap his arms around Raymond’s legs. "Mommy says we're going to the new academy in Ohio tomorrow!"
Raymond knelt down, picking up his grandson effortlessly, his face breaking into a warm, gentle smile that he reserved exclusively for the boy. "Is that right, Captain? Are you ready to inspect the new flight simulators?"
"Yes! I'm going to fly just like Daddy!" Leo declared proudly, holding up his wooden airplane toward the sky.
Elena walked up beside them, resting her hand gently on Raymond’s shoulder. The shadows of grief and fear that had haunted her eyes at the JFK airport terminal months ago were entirely gone, replaced by the quiet, fierce grace of a survivor who had helped reclaim her family's honor.
"The federal prosecutors just wired the final restitution settlement from Vanguard and Helvetia Prime," Elena said softly, a serene smile touching her lips. "Every single dollar is being channeled directly into the Liam Hawthorne Foundation for aerospace safety and orphan education."

Raymond stood up, holding little Leo in one arm while wrapping his other arm around Elena, drawing them both close against his chest.
"Good," Raymond said quietly, looking out toward the endless horizon where the sun was beginning its glorious ascent. "Let the world know... the Hawthorne dynasty is built on truth. And nothing on earth can ever tear it down."
