Chapter 6 - The Unraveling of a Bully6 -

Watching Percy flee down the driveway like a rat deserting a sinking ship was almost poetic. The grand romance—the illicit affair built on betrayal, arrogance, and stolen corporate funds—crumbled into dust in less than thirty seconds. Jordan didn't even try to chase her. He simply sat there in the patio chair, his shoulders completely caved in, staring blankly at the empty space where his trophy girlfriend had just vanished.

"Well," Clark said, breaking the heavy silence with a casual, easygoing tone as he slipped his smartphone back into his pocket. "That seemed like a very cost-effective breakup. No expensive counseling sessions required."

Marcus let out a dry, humorless chuckle, snapping his briefcase shut with a sharp click. He looked down at Jordan, who looked less like a corporate executive and more like a whipped dog awaiting its final punishment.

"Here are your options, Jordan," Marcus said, his voice dropping into a cold, clinical cadence. "Option one: We hand this entire dossier—including the wire fraud, the embezzlement, the offshore accounts, and the falsified tax returns—directly to the federal authorities and the board of directors at Apex Industries first thing tomorrow morning at 8:00 AM sharp. You spend the next ten to fifteen years of your prime reflecting on your financial crimes in a federal penitentiary while every single asset you own is seized and liquidated."

Jordan shuddered violently, burying his face in his trembling hands. A muffled, pathetic sob escaped his lips. "And... and option two?" he whispered through his fingers.

"Option two," Marcus continued seamlessly, "is significantly more merciful, though still deeply unpleasant for you. You sign an immediate, amended divorce settlement drafted by my team. This new settlement grants Sarah full ownership of the family home, primary custody of all four children, a retroactive redistribution of marital assets reflecting your actual hidden net worth, and a permanent, ironclad spousal and child support structure that cannot be modified or evaded."

Jordan dropped his hands, his bloodshot eyes staring up in sheer horror. "That—that will bankrupt me! That leaves me with almost nothing!"

"It leaves you with your freedom, Jordan," Marcus corrected sharply, his eyes narrowing into cold slits. "Which is infinitely more than you deserve after the way you treated Sarah and your children. You chose to gamble your entire life on greed and arrogance. Now, it's time to pay the dealer."

Jordan looked from Marcus to me. His expression was a pathetic mosaic of shock, regret, and desperate supplication. He knew he had no leverage left. Every lie he had told, every secret account he had hidden, had been meticulously uncovered by the forensic audit team Marcus had deployed weeks ago.

"Sarah..." Jordan choked out, his voice trembling as he crawled out of the chair and actually sank to his knees on the concrete patio, looking up at me like a supplicant begging for mercy. "Please... please have mercy. Think of the kids. We built this life together... don't take everything from me."

I looked down at the man who had been my husband for two decades. The man who had whispered sweet promises of eternity in my ear before coldly discarding me when he thought I was no longer useful or attractive. There was no triumph in my heart, no petty joy—just a profound, cleansing wave of absolute closure.

"You didn't think of the kids, Jordan, when you drained our accounts and invited your secretary to our son's birthday just to mock me," I said, my voice calm, steady, and utterly devoid of emotion. "You didn't have mercy when you told me I was no longer attractive to you."

I turned my gaze toward Marcus and nodded once.

"Bring out the paperwork," I said clearly. "Let’s finish this."
