Chapter 13 - The Rebirth of Summit Enterprises-13

Three months later, the grand ballroom of the Grand Plaza Hotel in Oakville was filled to capacity with the nation’s most prominent business leaders, political figures, and international investors. The occasion was the official fiftieth anniversary gala of Summit Enterprises—and the formal global re-launch of the corporation under my sole, undisputed leadership.

I stood at the podium on the elevated stage, wearing a stunning midnight-blue silk gown embroidered with subtle silver thread that caught the crystal chandelier light. My hair was swept up in an elegant chignon, and around my neck hung my grandmother’s diamond pendant.

The applause from the thousand-strong audience was deafening.

I raised my hand slightly, and the room quieted into a respectful, attentive hush.

"Ladies and gentlemen, esteemed colleagues, and dear friends," I began, my voice echoing clearly across the grand hall. "Every great empire is tested by storms. Some storms strip away the leaves; others reveal the rotten roots that need to be cleared away to make room for new, indestructible growth."

In the front row, Marcus Vance smiled proudly, raising his glass of champagne in a silent toast. Clara Hayes, now seated among the senior executive committee, nodded with quiet confidence.

"Over the past few months, Summit Enterprises has undergone a profound transformation," I continued, pacing slowly across the stage. "We have purged corruption, severed ties with bad actors, and reaffirmed our commitment to ethical innovation, technological integrity, and unyielding strength. We are stronger, leaner, and more powerful than we have ever been in our history."

I paused, letting my gaze sweep over the sea of faces, knowing that somewhere, in a cold, sterile federal prison cell thousands of miles away, Gavin Barrett was staring at four concrete walls, realizing that the "nobody" he tried to destroy had risen to become an absolute queen.

"My father taught me that a true leader doesn't fear the dark," I concluded, my voice ringing with absolute sovereign power. "Because when you own the night, the dawn belongs to you. Thank you."

The ballroom erupted into a standing ovation that lasted for nearly ten minutes. Flashbulbs strobed from every corner of the room, capturing the definitive moment of my rebirth.
