Chapter 14 - The Honor of Edward Miller-14

Six months after the trial concluded, a grand ceremony was held at the corporate headquarters of Stuttgart Auto Systems in Stuttgart, Germany.
The main engineering research center—a massive, state-of-the-art facility employing over three thousand automotive scientists—was being officially renamed.
Before a crowd of international journalists, corporate leaders, and government officials, Ethan stood on a raised stage alongside Herr Weber.
Unveiled behind them on the building's glass façade was a massive brass plaque bearing a silver portrait of his father:
THE EDWARD MILLER ENGINEERING & SAFETY RESEARCH CENTER
Dedicated to the memory of Edward Miller (1962–2011)
A man of unyielding integrity, truth, and courage who gave his life to protect others.
The audience erupted into loud, sustained applause.
Ethan stepped up to the podium, holding a microphone. Beside the stage stood Claire, holding one-year-old Lily, who clapped her tiny hands happily while looking at her father.
"Fifteen years ago," Ethan spoke into the microphone, his voice clear and resonant, "my father's voice was silenced by men who believed that money and power could bury the truth forever."
The auditorium listened in absolute, respectful silence.
"They thought that by paying blood money, by spreading lies, and by corrupting those closest to him, they could erase his memory," Ethan continued. "But truth is not something that can be buried in a bank account. It lives in the hearts of those who refuse to stay silent."
Ethan looked toward his wife and daughter, his smile radiant with pure, unshakeable joy.
"My father left me no fortune," Ethan concluded. "He left me something far more valuable: he taught me what it means to be a real man, a real husband, and a real father. Today, his name is cleared, his honor is restored, and his legacy will protect millions of lives for generations to come."
The standing ovation lasted for ten minutes.
After the ceremony, Ethan walked out into the central courtyard of the research facility, where a quiet rose garden had been planted around a marble fountain.
Claire walked up beside him, slipping her hand into his, while little Lily reached out to touch the cool water splashing from the fountain.
"He would be so proud of you, Ethan," Claire whispered, leaning her head against his shoulder.

"We did it together, Claire," Ethan said softly, kissing her forehead. "If you hadn't stayed strong that night... if we hadn't fought back... none of this would have been possible."
"We are a family, Ethan," Claire smiled, looking up into his eyes. "A real family."
