Chapter 3 - The Forensic Ledger-3

The silence in Family Courtroom 3A broke into a chaotic, roaring wave of murmurs as the gallery representatives realized they were witnessing the public unmasking of an international financial conspiracy and an attempted murder ring.
Judge Mercer stood up from her high-backed leather chair, her reading glasses catching the harsh glare of the overhead fluorescent lamps, her gray eyes locking onto Caleb's face with an absolute finality that felt like a guillotine blade dropping into place.
"Officer Briggs! Secure the respondent immediately!" Judge Mercer bellowed, her voice carrying a terrifying authority that stripped away any remaining pretense of civil litigation. "Lock down this entire sub-level box! No one leaves this courtroom, and no one utilizes an external wireless data device until the state troopers and the federal marshals arrive to assume custody of the evidence core!"
The heavy electronic deadbolts on the courtroom double doors clicked shut with a sharp, hydraulic hiss, the bright green "Exit" signs shifting instantly to a stark, flashing crimson as the building's automated security isolation protocol took over.
Caleb didn't try to play the calm, organized father anymore. The polished, real estate mogul facade he had worn so effortlessly since the initial filings vanished completely, replaced by the raw, feral calculation of a cornered predator. He reached into his jacket pocket, his hand fumbling frantically for his personal mobile device to enter a remote data-wipe token that would clear his offshore server registries in Cyprus.
But Officer Briggs was already moving. He launched his heavy frame across the counsel aisle, his large hands wrapping around Caleb’s wrist with an iron strength that forced the phone from his frozen fingers, the silver compact device clattering across the floorboards into the darkness beneath the bench rows.
"Get your hands off me!" Caleb roared, his voice cracking into a high-pitched, desperate wail of pure rage as Briggs slammed his body weight against the mahogany table, driving his arms behind his back to snap the heavy steel handcuffs around his wrists. "Evelyn! Do something! Call the Senator’s office! This is an illegal constitutional breach! A child's video file cannot be used to void an active custody petition!"

Evelyn Vance didn't move to help him. She took three rapid steps backward away from his table, her hands raised in the air, her face a pale mask of absolute self-preservation. "I have nothing to do with this transaction, Your Honor. I was retained strictly to handle the domestic asset allocation. I had no direct knowledge of any offshore wire operations or pharmaceutical acquisitions."
"Save your statements for the federal grand jury, Ms. Vance," Judge Mercer said coldly, her fingers already typing out a series of high-security communication commands onto her private terminal board. She looked down at me, her expression softening just a fraction into a look of deep professional solemnity. "Ms. Dawson, take your daughter out through the private judicial corridor behind my chambers immediately. Special Agent Harris from the FBI’s Financial Crimes Division is already entering the pavilion with an armed tactical escort."
