Chapter 4 - The Vault Separation-4

"Emma! Please! You have to listen to me!" Blake shrieked as soon as his eyes locked onto my gray coat, his hands tensing against the security partition rails as he tried to break past the uniform marshals who blocked his exit lane with their tactical weapons raised to the low-ready position. "My mother... Celeste... she’s the one who handled the patent registration adjustments! I didn't know she had blocked the medical intake logs from Mount Sinai! I was told you had aborted the pregnancy and moved to Europe with your brother's investment group!"
"You were told what your vanity required you to believe, Blake," I said, stopping exactly three feet from his position, my face an unreadable mask of absolute, clinical detachment. I didn't look at his outstretched hands; my gaze remained fixed flat on the digital data terminal Victor had placed on the central boardroom desk. "You spent five years sitting in the biggest chair during investor dinners, telling the world that you were the sole 'visionary' engineer behind the Harrington solar cores, while the woman who actually coded the molecular arrays was living off her family’s private trust because you were too arrogant to read an internal audit file."
"The transaction hits one hundred percent in exactly sixty seconds, Blake," Victor Hale—our senior asset recovery attorney—announced ruthlessly, pointing his finger toward the vibrant neon-green countdown timer flashing across the master monitor wall block: VOTING SHARES TRANSFERRED TO THE LEO, MASON, AND ASHER WINTERS TRUST. SECTOR STATUS: LOCKDOWN.
"This is an administrative ambush!" Edward Croft, Blake’s chief corporate defender, bellowed from the podium, his knuckles turning white as he scattered his asset disclosure folders across the table tiles. "Your Honor! This court cannot validate an automatic property seizure based on a fifteen-year-old investment covenant! We are demanding an immediate administrative recess to file an appeal with the Supreme Court!"

"The request for a recess is denied, Mr. Croft," Judge Evelyn Hart’s gravelly baritone cut through the panic like a blade as she adjusted her judicial robes over the high-backed mahogany bench. Her cold gray eyes fixed entirely on Blake’s shivering frame. "The Owens Family Trust operating charters are registered under an extra-jurisdictional federal maritime defense act pylon. This court has verified the digital signature tokens and the forensic communication diaries. The asset allocation remains under a national security lock. Marshal, secure the respondent’s personal data devices immediately."
With a smooth, clinical movements, the uniform operators stripped Blake’s mobile terminals and his passport folder from his pockets, the heavy steel handcuffs snapping around his wrists with a sharp, mechanical click that finalized his total operational destruction.
