"This is an extra-legal data-wipe cascade!" Edward Croft shrieked, his fingers flying across his diagnostic tablet as he tried to force a manual override command through his firm's secure servers downtown. "Your Honor! This court cannot validate an automatic property foreclosure based on a ten-year-old childhood financial diary! The electronic signature tokens linking my client to the Vanguard development group are protected under an un-deletable civil immunity block!"

"The civil immunity block was permanently voided at the opening clearing bell this morning, Mr. Croft," Agent Harris from the FBI’s Public Corruption Division answered, stepping through the rear gallery double doors with a full platoon of twenty heavily armed tactical operators whose rifle barrels were raised to the low-ready position. Her gold federal badge glinted beneath the track lamps as her field units formed an airtight tactical perimeter around the defense table, driving Truett Blackwood’s body weight down against the parquet tiles to snap heavy steel handcuffs around his wrists.

"Ethan Blackwood, you are under arrest for international wire manipulation, capital identity theft, corporate extortion, and systematic domestic coercion under the RICO statutes," Agent Harris bellowed, her voice carrying an absolute federal authority that stripped away his remaining high-society executive armor. "Your logistics handlers at the Port of Newark data annex were detained thirty minutes ago while attempting to execute a zero-fill wipe script on the root server core. He’s already surrendered the master validation files."

Ethan’s mother, Celeste Blackwood, let out a sharp, guttural shriek from the front-row VIP booth, her hand flying to her throat as her personal mobile terminal began to vibrate violently against her silk purse, its screen rendering a rapid, scrolling cascade of system error codes that signaled the total, permanent destruction of her family's multi-million-dollar real estate portfolio.
