Chapter 14 - The Endless Horizon-14-

Years went by, and the world changed in ways I could never have imagined. The Syndicate was a footnote in the history books, the Harrison family a shadow of a memory, and I was just a woman who lived by the sea.
I found a peace that I had never known was possible. I didn't worry about trackers, didn't check for surveillance, and didn't look over my shoulder.
I was a person. A person with a past, but not defined by it.
One evening, as the sun was setting, painting the water in brilliant, gold fire, I sat on my porch and opened my notebook. The pages were nearly full, a decade of my life documented in ink and honesty.
I thought about Daniel, about my father, about the Syndicate, and about the baseline. And I realized that it wasn't the events that defined me. It was the choice to stop running.
The choice to be real.
I closed the notebook, walked to the fireplace, and threw it in.
The pages caught, the fire roaring to life, consuming the history, the secrets, and the memory of the woman I had been.
As the flames died down, I felt a strange, quiet weight lift from my shoulders.
I was finally, truly, nobody.
And it was the greatest gift I had ever received.
I walked out to the beach, took a deep breath, and looked at the horizon.
The world was vast, the sky was wide, and the road was endless.

I was ready for whatever came next.
And I was finally, truly, free.
